The Basics: Respect & Gym Phrases


ครู (Kruu)- Teacher/Trainer

The most important word. Always address your trainer as 'Kruu'.

ไหว้ (Wâi)- The Thai Greeting

A prayer-like gesture to show respect. Wai your Kru before and after training.

สวัสดี (Sà-wàt-dii)- Hello

Your standard greeting. Add 'kháp' (male) or 'khà' (female) at the end to be polite.

ขอบคุณ (Khàwp Khun)- Thank You

Show gratitude. Again, add 'kháp' or 'khà' for politeness.
